First Watch Review

Looking to try a new “Daytime Cafe”, have you considered First Watch?

We first tried out First Watch the week of our wedding. Advertising a daytime cafe with fresh ingredients, we figured that it was just what we were needing to fuel our busy week and weekend! Since then, we have found time to go back a second time and plan on visiting again in the future! A glance at their online menu will definitely get your mouth watering. Here have a look for yourself:

Bill’s Order

On our first trip my husband, then fiance, opted for the Farmstand Breakfast Tacos with a side of Seasoned Potatoes and Bobs Red Mill Cheesy Grits. The Farmstand Breakfast Tacos included: Scrambled Eggs, Cajun Chicken, Chorizo, Avocado, Black Beans, Cheddar and Monterey Jack Cheese, and Housemade Pico de Gallo. He was overall pleased with the meal but chose a different option when we went for a second time.

Bill’s Peach Points: TBA

On our second visit he opted for the Chikichanga, which was not what he thought it was… The Chikichanga included: Scrambled Eggs, Spicy Chicken Breast, Chorizo, Avocado, Cheddar and Monterey Jack Cheese, Roasted Onions, Green Chiles, and was topped with Sour Cream and Vera Cruz Sauce. However, we later realized what he was actually hoping for was the Carnitas Breakfast Burrito – a seasonal option that we saw someone else had ordered. You live and you learn! LOL

Risa’s Order

On our first trip I grabbed the Bacado Omelet with a side of Seasoned Potatoes and Whole Wheat Toast. The Bacado Omelet included: Bacon, Avocado, and Monterey Jack Cheese inside, topped with Sour Cream. Without seeing how large the pancakes were, I also added the seasonal option at the time, which was a Carrot Cake Pancake. My husband and I ended up splitting that!

Risa’s Peach Points: 7/10 – pretty standard omelet meal, good but nothing amazing

To drink I had ordered the Iced Coffee but was unimpressed. It is served plain (not really any flavor options), so they offer flavored creamers at the table. However, I enjoy my iced coffee with added flavors so this wasn’t my personal favorite!

Risa’s Peach Points: 4/10 – not my favorite, limited amount of flavor options, just coffee

Now on our second visit I found my new favorite meal at First Watch! It is a great portion for me and feels healthy (enough) that I don’t regret eating out. As seen below I grabbed the Trifecta this time. The Trifecta includes your choice style of eggs (I always get scrambled anywhere), Seasoned Potatoes, your choice style of meat (I get the Chicken Sausage Patty), and a Belgian Waffle which includes butter and their Berry Compote – a deliciously sweet berry topping! I love potatoes so I add a side of Seasoned Potatoes as well.

Risa’s Peach Points: 9/10 – perfect amount of food for me, plenty of variety in one meal

As you can see below, pictured next to my Trifecta, I also grabbed the current seasonal drink Purple Haze. This drink includes: Lemon, Cane Sugar, Butterfly Pea Flower Tea, and a hint of Lavendar. Highly recommend it! Plus it makes for pretty pictures too!

Risa’s Peach Points: 9/10 – really good and flavorful, fun flavor yet still “normal” enough for the average person

Conclusion: See if there is a First Watch near you and give it a try. Leave a comment of what you like to order, or if you end up checking it out let me know what you think!
